You will, under limited direction from the GM, provide innovative and strategic direction and effective leadership for a specific business unit (Power Quality) in order to achieve product line growth and profitability. This individual is responsible for the financial success of the business through establishment and achievement of current and long-range objectives, plans, and policies. Incumbent is also responsible for the operational activities as well as the effective management of fiscal and human resources.
Essential Functions
Achieves business and profitability goals through use of LEAN processes, effective business leadership and execution of marketing strategies. Determines and formulates operational and business strategies and provides overall direction of the business unit.
Directs, plans, and implements strategy, policies, objectives, operational activities and internal control procedures for the business unit in accordance with the overall strategy of the company in order to achieve profitability, growth, and operational results.
Analyzes and evaluates product development, marketing and other business unit operations to assess performance of business unit and staff and then implements counter-measures as needed - may include cost reduction and program improvement.
Reviews financial statements and sales and activity reports to ensure that organization''s objectives are achieved.
Directs and coordinates organization''s financial and budget activities to fund operations, optimize fiscal and human resource investment, and increase efficiency.
Prepares reports and budgets and makes presentations to customers, VP/President, other executive staff, and parent company executives.
Collaborates with other marketing and executive staff in the development of a marketing plan, sales plan and account management process in order to identify markets, counter competitive threats, and execute on policy deployment objectives.
Coordinates business unit efforts with those of corporate strategic development, M&A;, and engineering (research & development) in order to ensure the unit achieves market-positioning status as planned. Looks for opportunities to both achieve customer requirements and optimize product line(s) across all possible markets.
Ensures corporate values are reinforced throughout the business unit, through deliberate communication, training, and development of subordinate management staff. Serves as role model for leadership within the business unit.
Ensures the highest quality staff are hired and retained; ensures administrative processes and programs supporting associate-needs are completed and that policies are carried out consistently and fairly throughout the organization.
Responsible for overall performance of the business unit and the achievement of planned objectives.

Qualifications:
Bachelor''s degree in Electrical Engineering; MBA preferred.
Experience with power and power flow, in and around a power environment.
A minimum of five to ten years of progressive and broad based strategic and innovative marketing, brand and product leadership experience working in organizations with highly advanced, innovative technical products.
Proven experience in developing long-range strategic goals with the ability to establish competitive strategy based on market intelligence, financials, and technology drivers
Experience marketing products globally with a track record of increasing or creating market share
Development and execution of product line pricing strategy and sales forecasting with indirect channels
Partnership with and support of the field sales and marketing organization to drive revenue growth through product training, collateral, brochures and technical capabilities
Expertise in product marketing, product management, customer segmentation, vertical marketing and / or product development is required
Full understanding of market research tools and demonstrated experience in performing market segmentation analyses
Experience working within branded B2B and / or B2C environments with exposure to large-scale projects and cross-functional involvement in a variety of areas
Proven experience in global markets, including product launch and geography specific marketing research and initiatives
Demonstrated experience in leading aggressive and results-driven brand management and product planning strategies utilizing Voice of the Customer (VOC) to identify growth opportunities for the company
Successful track record of managing, leading, and developing people; able to enhance the competency and skill base of the marketing organization while simultaneously developing more coherent communications across the company.
