Everett, WA Everett, WA Full-time Full-time $21 - $34 an hour $21 - $34 an hour A saw filer is responsible for safely maintaining saws, saw equipment, performing machine alignment and providing preventive maintenance to saw filing machines.
A saw filer's role is not only key to providing the safe operation of saw equipment, but is also crucial in the efficient production of a sawmill.
We are looking for an experienced filer or someone new to the field as a trainee.
Someone with metal working and fabrication skills would be a good fit for the trainee position.
Experienced filers encouraged to apply as well.
The trainee position would be on-the-job training for an individual who has machining and metal work experience.
Experience in an industrial / metal shop or sawmill environment is required.
Responsibilities include:
1.
Examine saw filing equipment for defects.
2.
Perform the necessary procedures to maintain saw filing equipment.
3.
Sharpen teeth of saws.
4.
Compute the angle of teeth and number to produce specified cuts.
5.
Perform other necessary duties to keep saw filing equipment in peak operating condition.
