90 per hour Job Definition Works as a member of a crew directing traffic and performing incidental and clean up duties in accordance with safety and constructions standards and regulations.
Distinguishing Characteristics This position works no set schedule and is on-call.
This position is not eligible to take upgrades to higher classifications.
This position is not eligible for a boot allowance.
Essential Job Functions Flags and performs traffic control.
Performs incidental restoration and clean-up duties.
Assists Helpers and Equipment Operators with vehicle loading, unloading and clean-up.
Drives District vehicles for flagging and cleanup duties.
Performs stenciling of poles.
Loads and unloads material and equipment related to flagging and cleanup duties and delivers miscellaneous items.
Delivers outage notifications to customers' homes.

Orientation on tools and equipment of the trade (i.
e.
signs, cones, sign boards, barricades, etc.
) Flagging procedures and techniques.
Occupational hazards and required safety precautions.
Ability to:
Use tools and equipment of the trade.
Drive vehicles (District pick-ups and cars).
Interact with customers, government officials, and District employees as necessary to complete assignments.
Physically perform assigned duties.
Report to job site in own vehicle when required.
Experience/Education High School Diploma or equivalent.
License/Certification Valid current Flagging Card.
Obtain a valid CPR certificate within 6 months from job start date.
Obtain a valid First Aid certificate within 6 months from job start date.
Note:
Flagging Card is not required for the testing process, but is required on the first day of employment/job start.
Preferred Qualifications Exposure to construction environment (i.
e.
- weather, etc.
).
Fundamentals of Electricity.
CPR, First Aid certification.
Working Conditions Work is performed outdoors, in and around urban street environments and in traffic, in all weather conditions.
Employees risk physical hazard from moving traffic.
Must be able to lift and move material and tools weighing up to 40 lbs.
Required to stand for long periods of time.
This position is subject to 24-hour call out for emergency situations.
