OverviewThe Product Manager is responsible for defining the vision and long-term product strategy to guide agency level planning for the future.
This role combines both product planning and marketing to manage the entire life cycle of a product.
The Product Manager is responsible for gathering and prioritizing customer requirements to create and improve transit options people will love.
Responsibilities include creating a customer focused roadmap, inspiring a customer-first environment, and fostering an environment of continuous learning and improvement.
The Product Manager will keep up to date on all developments essential to achieving our desired outcomes and be accountable for making final decisions about the product.
Essential DutiesCreates, manages, and executes on product roadmap.
Evaluates opportunities for improvement and growth.
Makes all key decisions on product after considering stakeholder feedback.
Facilitates multi-division working groups, consisting of subject matter experts across the agency.
Ensures all work is executed on time, on budget, and to achieve agency goals.
Builds product management program and standards to be used across the agency.
Acts as a product evangelist to build awareness and understanding.
Leads product team to gain a deep understanding of customer experience.
Identifies and fills product gaps, generates new ideas that grow market share, improve customer experience and drive growth.
Translates product strategy into detailed requirements and prototypes.
Scopes and prioritizes activities based on business and customer impact.
Defines product plan for new features.
Oversees implementation of the product backlog, consisting of incremental enhancements.
Evaluates promotional plans to ensure that they are consistent with product line strategy and that the message is effectively conveyed.
Drives product launches including working with Marketing and Communications, executives, and other product management team members.
Directs and manages all activities of the Vanpool program, including market opportunities, growth, and performance.
Manages and develops a high-performance oriented staff.
Coordinates with partner agencies to ensure program, operations, and business practices.
Manages the effective dissemination of information for executive/senior management, the Board of Directors, and other stakeholders.
Represents agency in local and regional forums.
RequirementsMinimum Qualifications Five years of professional experience in product management.
Five years of experience in supervision managing direct reports.
Proven track record of managing all aspects of a successful product throughout its lifecycle.
Proven ability to develop product and marketing strategies and effectively communicate recommendations to executive management.
Strong problem-solving skills and willingness to roll up one's sleeves to get the job done.
Skilled at working effectively with cross functional teams in a matrix organization.
Proven experience delivering on key customer needs with a strong customer focus.
Preferred Education in Business or Product Management Transportation Experience Entry Requirements for:
