We are hiring Transit Security Officers (TSOs) to help build and promote a sense of safety and trust for employees, riders, and the public.
In this role, you will work closely with the support of the Transit Police Unit, the Social Worker Program, and customer service positions.
TSOs work with people every day.
This includes providing uniformed and undercover services in a calm, respectful, and trauma-informed manner.
TSOs work with a diverse range of people and must approach their work with a focus on equity and cultural sensitivity.
TSO interactions should be supportive, non-judgmental, and respectful.
TSOs must demonstrate strong communication skills, ethical conduct, and professionalism.
REQUIRED MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS (MUST HAVE TO BE ELIGIBLE TO APPLY):
1.
High school diploma or GED certificate 2.
Two years of experience responding to, de-escalating, investigating, and maintaining records of emergencies or security incidents 3.
Previous security experience with the public in an urban environment, possessing excellent communication and de-escalation skills, and demonstrate a passion for customer service.

Valid Washington State driver's license.
5.
Ability to successfully pass comprehensive background investigation 6.
Valid First Aid/CPR/AED certification or the ability to obtain such certification within 30 days of hire.
7.
Ability to successfully pass a pre-work screen to demonstrate a minimal level of fitness needed to perform the essential job duties.
8.
Ability to obtain a physician's signature on a Statement of Fitness form indicating your ability to participate in training and perform essential job duties.
